Melville

The Sta. Rita Hills appellation is where Ron Melville and his sons Brent and Chad Melville decided to develop their estate vineyards and winery. The appellation's microclimate, which is characterized by cool temperatures, prominent coastal winds and foggy mornings is known to be viticulturally suited to growing Burgundian grape varietals such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Northern Rhone Syrah. The cool temperatures prolong the growing season which allows grapes longer hang time on the vines and heightened varietal flavor intensity.

Our beautiful two-story winery resembles a romantic Mediterranean Villa. Set within a landscape of lavender bushes and poplar, oak, and sycamore trees, the winery is the nucleus of our estate grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah vines. While enjoying your glass of fine Pinot Noir, you will be seated in an exquisite Tasting Room, encased by a rotunda of French doors, overlooking a picturesque garden setting and courtyard.
