Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Graham Tatomer takes local to its ultimate meaning. Graham started making wine when he was sixteen years old. After four years working for Santa Barbara Winery, Graham packed a bag and moved to Europe to learn from the “Old-World” masters in Austria (Weingut Knoll). Upon returning, he scraped together every penny he could find, mostly from a childhood baseball card collection and built his winery barrel by barrel; risking it all. Now, he is known in far reaches of the globe for producing the aromatic varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Pinot Noir. He has been hailed as the region’s authority on Austrian/German white varieties. The wines are filled with depth, energy, and nuance. His wines are complex and delicious, and known for over delivering for the price.
