Stolpman Vineyards, a family-owned winery in the heart of Santa Barbara County, is seeking a Full Time Wine Educator to join our team in Los Olivos, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful tasting room and share our wines with guests from all over the world. This position offers immediate room for growth.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in wine hospitality, and sales, as well as a passion for wine and a desire to share that passion with others. A strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work weekends and holidays are a must.

 

These duties are a representative example; position assignments may vary depending on the business needs of the organization.

 

o Provide guests with a warm welcome, and an informative and educational tasting experience.

o Pour and describe wines with knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm.

o Promote and sell wine club memberships, wines, and merchandise.

o Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions and maintain proper cash handling procedures.

o Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, and organizing the tasting room.

o Maintain a professional appearance and represent all the Stolpman Vineyard brands in a positive manner.

o Follow all safety and alcohol service guidelines.

o Participate in periodic training sessions and team meetings

o Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

· High school Diploma or GED and/or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above; and

· At least 1 year of experience in the hospitality, wine, food, or retail sales environment is preferred.

· The incumbent must meet the physical requirements of the job class and have mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing, and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed.

· Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
