Tasting Room Sales Associate (Alma Rosa Winery)

We are looking for an experienced Tasting Room Sales Associate to create a positive experience and sell high quality wines at our stunning tasting room in downtown Solvang and at our ranch. This role requires someone capable of conducting periodic vineyard tours at our ranch in Buellton. The candidate must enjoy being outdoors and able to comfortably walk up to 3 miles through varied, hilly terrain while providing tours.

Our compensation is very competitive and includes a high hourly wage, commissions, wine club bonuses and tips. This position is part-time, 2 – 3 days per week with Sundays required. Candidates must be able to safely and easily lift a 40-lb case of wine and comfortably walk up to 3 miles in varied, hilly terrain to conduct hiking tours of our estate.

The Tasting Room Sales Associate’s duties will include, but are not limited to:
· Educating guests on the winery, its history, and its products.
· Selling wine and wine clubs to meet/exceed company goals.
· Host private tastings and hikes at estate vineyard and sell wine and wine club memberships.
· Create and process daily POS and phone/other orders.
· Member outreach, including outbound telesales
· Creating a warm inviting atmosphere for our guests and employees alike.
· These tasks may be modified at any time based on the direction of management.
Requirements:
· Minimum one year experience in tasting room, restaurant/bar and/or guest service-oriented position.
· Strong team member with attention to detail and organization.
· Passion for wine and guest service.
· Ability to work and relate well with a wide variety of people
· Strong planning and organization skills, judgement and problem resolution skills, and written and oral communication skills.
· Strong POS technology proficiency, preferably with Wine Direct.
· Work flexible schedule to meet needs of business, including evening and weekend shifts, and periodic offsite events.
