Weather

It’s Summertime! Days are sunny and warm and nights are crisp and cool. Due to our transverse valleys, regions closer to the Pacific are cooler and usually experience morning fogs. As you move east, daytime temperatures rise and nighttime temperatures plummet – about one degree per mile. So do as we do, dress in layers and then add on or take off as the temperatures change!

Breathtaking vistas overlook valleys and mountains studded with ancient oaks, brilliant wild flowers and magnificent vineyards. Taking a leisurely country drive allows you to fully appreciate the winemaking experience while viewing the ever changing seasons. Pruning in the winter, bud break in spring, canopy management in summer, culminates with the fall harvest. It is a wonderful discovery for any traveler! You'll find great restaurants, galleries, country inns and exceptional tasting rooms. Friendly and knowledgeable people are waiting to welcome, serve and delight you.

‘Tis the Season

Come celebrate the joys of harvest with us – at our annual Celebration of Harvest Festival on October 9th!

It’s beginning to look a lot like – harvest? We’re about 2-3 weeks behind our normal harvest schedule here in Santa Barbara Wine Country, due to the (so far) extraordinarily cool summer temperatures.

But no matter – harvest is coming! The crop looks bountiful, and grape set was really good so just a few more weeks of ripening and picking will commence! In the meantime, winemakers are bottling, receiving and preparing new barrels, organizing their cellars and getting ready! The vineyard crews are out in force, dropping clusters that are behind in ripening, tucking shoots into trellises, lining up crews and getting the tractors and picking bins ready. Everyone is making a list – and checking it twice!
