Restaurants located in Santa Barbara County that sell Santa Barbara County wines.

 

Annual membership dues are a donation to one event or meal for the Vintners Association or the Vintners Foundation, such as: hosting a visiting journalist, catering a Board Luncheon or networking event, participation in the Vintners Festival, Wine Auction, Golf Tournament, 5-K Run, etc.

 

This is a $500 value.

Well, BECAUSE Seagrape is a micro-winery (actually, probably nano-winery) with a limited marketing budget and is a two-person show. We could never afford to hire outside talent for PR or social media, just will never have the reach of an association such as Vintners, and frankly, do not have the bandwidth to do it all. When I realized that I pay a subscription to Adobe for software that costs about half of what I would pay for a membership “subscription” to the Vintners’ Association, a light bulb went on.   • Website: Every member enjoys a dedicated webpage on our website that has close to 140,000 unique visitors per year.
  • Email: We have an email list of over 11,000 consumers who receive Santa Barbara Wine Country events and news.

With almost $2B of economic impact, the Santa Barbara County wine industry must stay engaged in policy issues that impact the wine industry. We track various county issues, as well as shepherd the wineries, tasting rooms, and vineyards through regulatory impacts.

Marketing Your Brand

Unique marketing opportunities present themselves as the year unfolds. They have included but not been limited to the following events. We will continue to offer participation opportunities as they present themselves.

  • Media visits and/or tasting panels
  • Out-of-County pouring opportunities and consumer/media events
  • Association level participation in outside events (WOPN, IPNC, etc.) 
  • Passport programs 
  • Movie Premier or Event 
  • Virtual consumer events driving DTC sales 

Community & Events

  • Consumer Events: The association produces events ranging from large scale grand tastings to small curated experiences.
  • Trade Tastings: Mission Santa Barbara is a 3-Day Trade Tour with over 40 sommeliers and buyers from around the United States.
  • Educational Member Tastings: Monthly, except during harvest, these blind tastings of a specific varietal (pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, etc.) allow members to network and learn about each other’s wines and businesses. Leadership Members are offered the first opportunity to host.
  • Expert Lectures: This series brings experts to speak to membership on a range of agricultural, marketing, or wine business topics.
  • Educational Programs: Training and educational sessions that are procured exclusively for our members. This includes RBS training, business-to-business educational seminars, vineyard practices, and forklift certification.
