Seagrape Wine Company

Seagrape Wine Company

From the Seacoast to your Table

We admit it – we’re sea-folk. Whether ancestrally hailing from islands, living on an island, or plying the waters of our own Channel Islands here in Santa Barbara County, we’re drawn to the sea. Now long-time dropouts from the corporate tech-world, we are happily growing and making wine in our marine-influenced transverse valley. No more “Sig Alerts”, not a cubicle in sight, no power suits, ties or uncomfortable shoes. And every morning as the marine fog rolls in from the nearby Pacific Ocean, through the Santa Rita Hills to our Los Olivos vineyards, we’re reminded of the sea and so proud to be a part of this incredible wine region.

Seagrape Wine Company encompasses two labels.  Seagrape wines are named after the Seagrape tree (coccoloba uvifera) and a visual reminder of both our winemaker roots and Karen’s time living in the Caribbean. Le Pecheur (The Fisherman) represents the work of a Dory fisherman, which (Crabby) Steve continues to do each week.

We’ve recently planted two small vineyards on the hills behind our home in Los Olivos. Those first releases of Syrah and Chenin Blanc join sourced Chardonnay, Pinot Gris (orange) and Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills.
