Rancho Feliz is located in the Happy Canyon AVA. The initial 2 acre vineyard was planted in 2016 with the five Bordeaux varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot. A second 1.5 acre vineyard was planted in 2024 with Grenache and the plan is to produce Rose from those grapes.
Ivan Belfy of Buona Terra Farming and his team tend to the vines and our esteemed winemaker is Blair Fox.
Blair creates a field blend Meritage of the Bordeaux grapes and ages it for 24 months in oak. Half of the production is kept by the owners under their label, Rancho Feliz Private Reserve and is not for sale, the other half Blair sells under his label, SkulK and is available from his tasting room in Los Olivos.
Production is roughly 200 cases a year from the Meritage vineyard. The Grenache vines should be ready for harvesting in 2026.
