Our Story
Three Generations. One Dream.
In 1996, Mike and Brooke Carhartt planted the first vines on their historic Rancho Santa Ynez™ property. Located in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the estate’s unique microclimate allows the Carhartts to grow a wide range of varietals with complexity and character. Today, alongside their son Chase, they continue to farm their land and craft their wines with care, passion, and purpose.

Our tasting room in Los Olivos is the one and only place to experience Carhartt wines—100% direct-to-consumer, and proudly family-owned. We feature over 20 seasonal selections throughout the year, giving guests a diverse and ever-evolving tasting experience.

The Retreat is centrally located between the towns of Solvang and Los Olivos, just minutes away from restaurants, vineyards, tasting rooms and boutique shops.
