Lyons Vineyard

Lyons Vineyard

Founded by Sarah and Skye Lyons, Lyons Vineyard is a first-generation, family-run wine farm in the Los Olivos District AVA of Santa Barbara County. After years of dreaming about building a vineyard and winery together, the couple left their corporate careers to pursue wine full time, launching their own label beginning with the 2022 vintage.

The 10-acre property was first planted in 2009 with one acre each of Grenache and Viognier, and expanded in 2017 to nearly six acres under vine. Since then, the vineyard has supplied fruit to some of the region’s most respected winemakers, many of whom craft vineyard-designated bottlings from its grapes.

Located on an ancient riverbench with sandy loam and alluvial soils, the vineyard benefits from the rare east–west transverse orientation of the Santa Ynez Valley, which channels cool ocean breezes inland and creates dramatic diurnal temperature swings. The combination of ample sunshine with wind and temperature shifts produces grapes that retain remarkable natural acidity.

Lyons Vineyard focuses exclusively on small-lot, estate-grown Rhône varietals, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Viognier. The winemaking is minimal-intervention to preserve varietal character and site expression. Across the lineup, the wines aim for balance, freshness, elegance, and a sense of energy that reflects both the site and the Lyons’ belief that wine should feel expressive, approachable, and connected to place.
